When I was young
I’d always dreamt of
Having a fairy friend
Wishing to see her
Walking under the ark leaf
Or living inside a tall bush
I waited everyday
For her
On the grassy ground
Maybe, she runs through the lawn
On the shade of trees
Perhaps, she sits on the fruit
Hiding in the flower bud,
Whenever someone passes by
But no- I’ve never seen one
But I hoped they’re real
When it’s dark
And something beams afar
I wish it’s a light fairy
Trying to light my way
Hoping someone lives
In the strawberry
Or protecting the blackberry
Of the neighborhood
I hope there’s a fairy
Who would be my friend
Because I want a friend
Whatever she maybe
A person or a fairy
Awww, this has a sadness to it, yet is also so hopeful. Beautiful poem, Maya. 💞
